Norman Carr Safaris in Zambia’s South Luangwa Valley

While Valentine’s Day conjures up images of chocolate and romantic dinners, Norman Carr Safaris is offering something else for lovebirds with a luxurious safari stay in Zambia.

Since Valentine’s Day falls during Zambia’s green season—that means plenty of birds and wildlife to spot in South Luangwa—the Valentine’s-themed Rivers and Rainbows package is perfect for couples looking to explore the area on a safari. Travelers spend seven nights at the new luxury eco-lodge Chinzombo, which is set on a 60-acre preserve on the Luangwa river and only features six villas. Couples will have plenty of privacy in villas that features private plunge pools, decks with views of the river and a bathtub offering equally stunning views.

Travelers will also trade in breakfast in bed for breakfast in the bush, complete with a white tablecloth; Valentine’s Day-themed pink items like smoked salmon, berries and scones with strawberry jam; and rose champagne and kir royales (for an additional fee). The eco-lodge also offers spa treatments and game walks and boating safaris.

The package, which starts at $3,285, includes accommodations, meals, bar drinks, selected domestic flights, transfers to and from the Mfuwe airport, inter-camp transfers, game-viewing activities, laundry and taxes. For more information, visit
