Uncommon Journeys is introducing a new itinerary to one of North America’s most spectacular locations—the Grand Canyon.

The 8-day journey features a ride on the historic Grand Canyon Railway for a scenic train ride bound for the South Rim, minus the pressing crowds of summer, and ends with a 3-night stay at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. You’ll also be ringing in the New Year on this family (or friends) holiday trip, which is available Dec. 29 through Jan. 5, 2014 and includes stops in quaint towns in Arizona; Grand Canyon National Park; and Las Vegas.

Some highlights include: traveling aboard the Southwest Chief train in coach accommodations from Southern California, or the Midwest, for a 1-night journey featuring a full observation lounge and dining car service; a special welcome breakfast in historic Winslow, AZ. at the La Posada Hotel, built by Fred Harvey for the Santa Fe Railroad, along with a scenic drive through the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest en route to Williams, AZ.; an overnight stay in Williams the evening of Dec. 30th at the Grand Canyon Hotel, dinner and breakfast included; and a train ride on the Grand Canyon Railway to the South Rim, an unforgettable trip when the Park is least crowded and often dusted with snow.

Also, two nights at the Bright Angel Lodge, located on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, with optional New Year’s Eve event and breakfast daily; scenic coach drive from the Grand Canyon to Las Vegas on Jan. 2 through Laughlin, NV.; and 3-nights in luxury accommodations at the five-star Bellagio Hotel & Casino.

Fares begin at $1,995 pp. For reservations, call (800) 543-2846 or visit,
